After-School Nanny Job, Queen's Park, North West London

Start Date: 1st September 2026

A warm and welcoming family based in Queen's Park is seeking an experienced, caring, and engaging after-school nanny to care for their two delightful children, aged 10 and 8, on a sole-charge basis.

The eldest child is bright, academic, and enjoys drama. The family would love a nanny who can encourage her imagination, creativity, and confidence through play and engaging activities. Her younger brother is energetic, musical, and enjoys being active. They are looking for someone patient, calm, nurturing, and able to provide gentle guidance while creating a fun and happy after-school environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collecting the children from school.

  • Supervising homework, with particular support for reading and writing.

  • Planning creative, engaging, and age-appropriate after-school activities.

  • Encouraging imaginative play, outdoor activities, and social interaction.

  • Taking the children to extracurricular activities and arranging playdates.

  • Maintaining the children's routines and communicating with the parents regarding their day.

  • Providing one to two evenings of babysitting each week.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday

  • 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • 1 – 2 babysitting evenings per week

  • During school holidays and half terms, additional hours will be required (approximately 1.5 times the usual schedule).

  • Guaranteed 18 – 20 hours per week, paid throughout the year. 

Candidate Requirements

The ideal nanny will be:

  • Experienced caring for school-aged children.

  • Warm, kind, patient, and reliable.

  • Creative and proactive in planning engaging activities.

  • Confident supporting homework and encouraging learning in a positive way. 

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Driver.

  • French or Hindi speaker. 

Additional Information

  • No cooking or laundry duties are required, as the family employs a housekeeper.

  • This is a long-term position with a lovely family seeking someone who will become an important part of their children's lives.
