After-School Nanny Job, Islington

September/October Start

A returning client of Greycoat Lumleys is seeking a warm, experienced and proactive After-School Nanny to care for their two children, aged 4 and 11.

Both children are happy, relaxed and well-mannered and will be starting at new schools in September, with one school based in St John’s Wood and the other in Regent’s Park.

The family employed their previous nanny for an impressive 10 years and are therefore looking for someone who is genuinely committed to a long-term position. A strong employment history and evidence of longevity in previous roles would be highly advantageous.

An educational background would also be welcomed, although this is not essential.

The Role

This is a lovely opportunity for an experienced nanny who enjoys being actively involved in the children's lives and can provide a consistent, nurturing and well-organized after-school routine.

The family travels extensively during the school holidays and owns properties in the English countryside and Paris, with worldwide travel during school holidays. The successful candidate should therefore be confident travelling with a family and have a positive, flexible and can-do attitude.

Duties

  • School runs

  • Preparing and cooking meals for the children

  • Taking the children to after-school activities

  • Arranging and facilitating playdates

  • Supporting the children with homework

  • Encouraging good manners, etiquette, and appropriate behavior

  • Keeping the children's bedrooms, belongings and school items organized

  • Supporting the children with their daily routines

  • Travelling with the family during school holidays 

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in caring for school-aged children

  • Warm, reliable, and nurturing

  • Proactive, energetic, and organized

  • Confident supporting homework and educational activities

  • Comfortable preparing family-style meals for children

  • Flexible and happy to travel internationally

  • Looking for a long-term commitment

  • Able to demonstrate stability and longevity in previous positions

  • A fluent English speaker

  • A driver would be highly advantageous, as a car is provided for school runs and activities; however, candidates without a driving license may still be considered depending on their overall suitability 

Position Details:

Days: Monday–Friday

Term-Time Hours: 2.00pm–7.00pm

School Holidays: Full-time hours

Start Date: September/October 2026

Salary: £22 – £25 gross per hour

Travel: Worldwide during school holidays

Driving: Preferred; car provided

Language: English essential

Other Staff: Live-in housekeeper employed
