Our client are looking to recruit an Assistant Conference and Events Operations Manager to support the Senior Operations Manager to oversee our huge mix of events and conference spaces for up to 5000.

£26,000 per annum + benefits

To work 5 out of 7 days, in line with business needs

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient planning and delivery of the day-to-day conference and event functions which can range from 50 to 5000+ attendees

  • The spaces are flexible and can accommodate a range of events, you will be involved in working with clients whilst managing the business needs and performance standards

  • You will oversee and supervise the quality of services offered to client whilst maintaining relationship with the client

  • Attention to detail and high standards are key to the success of this operation

  • The team will require a strong leader to keep communication clear and to continually support, develop and motivate

  • Maintain good communication with all suppliers on the run up to the event.

  • Ensure that all relevant departments are kept up to date with information on all details of events and any changes to the event details.

  • Ensuring all relevant revenues is passed for Invoicing and recovery of income. Records to be maintained on a spread-sheet.

  • Responsible for scoping additional resources required to further develop.

  • Maintain and update all stock records.

  • Coordinate and delivery of all internal/external meetings Tea, Coffee requests.

  • To perform any other duties deemed necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the Catering Department.

  • Ensure staffing level for all events are booked and correct

  • Liaise with the kitchen department on all menus and food requirement including special requests/dietary requirements.

  • Ensure that all staff for each events are fully briefed and competent to carry out the required services

  • To work and execute effectively within the delegated budget for events.


Ideal candidate

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a demanding environment

  • Experience working in a sporting venue

  • Ability to listen and detect client needs

  • Experience of coordinating and overseeing high volume and high profile events from 1500 covers

  • Team leadership skills

  • Highly organized and efficient

  • Proactive and positive attitude

  • Previous experience in a fast paced and demanding environment

  • High standards and attention to detail
