A client of ours has a job for a confident Chalet Chef to start in December for the upcoming winter season. This is a lovely role in a private chalet located in the heart of Meribel that has the additional bonus of being ski in ski out. There are two hosts who also work in the chalet and who are responsible for the cleaning and service. The chalet kitchen is well equipped, and the owner expects high standards of food and service.
The Chef will be cooking breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner for up to twelve guests. It will predominantly be used by the family with older teen children in the school holidays but also visits can be expected from extended family and friends. The Chef has the freedom to create the menu, and will also be responsible for the shopping and ordering of the food. The client enjoys good quality food and ingredients, and expects good presentation.
The right Chef will be able to produce delicious and visually exciting food. Ideally, they would have worked in a private chalet before, but Chefs from restaurants or private houses would also be considered. The Chef should have a flexible outlook and a 'muck in' attitude; team player is essential.
