A private members’ club in central London has a job for either a Demi Chef de Partie or a Chef de Partie to start in ASAP

 

The Demi Chef de Partie or Chef de Partie will ensure that food is prepared and delivered to consistently high standards. They will be responsible for effectively running a section, ensuring the quality of dishes being prepared are consistent and meeting the required standards. They will be also responsible for ensuring the more Junior Chefs in the section are given clear direction and effectively supervised to be able to develop their knowledge and skills.

Main duties and responsibilities will include

  • Supervise and participate in the preparation of all goods and food items in accordance with established recipe cards and methods.

  • Assist with resource organisation during the event process concerning kitchen areas and kitchen resources.

  • Ensure that all food items are prepared in an attractive and appetising manner.

  • Samples all foods, sauces etc. on a regular basis to ensure established standards are maintained.

  • Ensure continued portion control policies, standards etc. are maintained.

  • Conducts ‘on the job’ training as appropriate.

  • Ensure section equipment is well maintained and handled and kitchen section is kept clean and tidy at all times.

  • Participate in menu planning ideas as appropriate.

  • Health and Safety and Food Quality legislation monitoring and control. Ensuring that the kitchen section operation conforms with required standards to both Government and Company policies.

  • Works a rota/shift as required with the team schedule to ensure adequate coverage of their section.

  • Performs any duties or tasks as required by the kitchen management.

 

We are ideally looking for person who has:

  • worked previously within a high standard fine dining establishments

  • minimum 1 year Chef de Partie or 2 years Demi CDP proven experience

  • professional culinary / cookery qualification

  • passion for food preparation and eagerness to develop and continue their career as a Chef

 

Salary: £19,000-£22,000 gross per annum
