2nd Chef for Private Residence/Office in Central London

 

We are looking for a Chef, to work alongside the current Head Chef, to provide a discreet and exacting service to the Principal and his guests on a day-to-day basis at both his office and private residences.  This is a full time, live out role based in central London.

 

The role will cater for the Principal at his private residence through small informal dinners for between 1-4 guests and occasional formal dinner parties for up to 12.  You will also need to cater for business breakfasts and lunches hosted by the Principal at his London office.

 

Your main responsibilities will be work to prepare breakfast and lunch and assist the Head Chef with the preparation of dinner.

 

Food should be creative, seasonal and healthy, ranging from informal Ottolenghi style food to more formal dining.

 

Main areas of responsibilities:

  • Meal planning and preparation of all day to day meals and snacks for the Principal

  • Cooking for formal and informal business breakfasts, lunches and dinners for the Principal and his guests at both the office and his private residence in London

  • Preparing weekly menus in conjunction with the Head Chef

  • Working alongside the Head Chef at formal dinner parties

  • In coordination with the Head Chef, sourcing and shopping for high quality ingredients

  • Ensuring all kitchen preparation areas and equipment are clean and in good order

  • Preparing kitchen inventories as required

  • Working alongside all other staff members of the Principal’s Executive Desk to ensure the smooth running of operations

  • Serving meals and drinks, and performing waiter services as necessary

  • Occasional travel within the UK and overseas

 

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience as a Chef within a similar environment

  • Familiar with working alongside Senior/ Head Chefs

  • A creative mind set, thriving on creating healthy, modern food

  • Service oriented with excellent organisation and communication skills

  • Experience in cooking international cuisine

  • Experience in pastry

  • Proactive, self-motivated and thorough

  • Flexible, accommodating and professional

  • Well-mannered and well presented

  • Friendly and personable

  • Intuitive and composed

 

The role will typically require work between the hours of 7am – 4pm with some evening and weekend work required.

 

Salary: £40,000 gross per annum
