Chef/House Manager required for Private Household in West London

A lovely client of Greycoat Lumleys is looking for a chef to cook lunch and pre-prepare dinner most days as well as manage a team of 5 dedicated housekeepers.

They are looking for an adventurous chef to plan, shop and cook food for the family and their guests; think fresh, seasonal, robust Italian cooking. The number of people you would be cooking for at lunch will vary from one person to intimate lunch parties. You must be able to turn your hand to a more refined menu when they entertain for more guests in the evening.

On the house management side of things, the housekeeping team are very experienced so you would not need to assist with any housekeeping, but be someone they can come to with any questions. As well as being the Principals’ primary point of contact with the house staff, the candidate will be in charge of provisioning, checking the house regularly and both organising and overseeing minor repairs and routine maintenance. Daily liaison with staff who are based off-site, via email as well as face to face, is crucial.

You would need to be open and caring with natural authority, and be fond of dogs. There are very high standards in the house, paired with a relaxed ethos.

Days worked: Monday – Friday (very rarely at the weekends)

Hours: 10am – 6pm (plus occasional week day evenings)

Salary: negotiable depending on experience
