Live in Couple Job in Berkshire 

Enthusiastic, accomplished couple (House/Estate Manager & Housekeeper/Cook) wanted for a c. 160-acre Georgian family home estate with landscaped gardens and adjoining working farm. Must have a proactive, can-do attitude, willing to integrate and work alongside a small, long-standing team in the house, garden and farm. There is a dog and 8 Hens.

Housekeeping role for 6-bedroom, 8-bathroom home, with some wholesome and healthy food preparation.

Other staff employed included a cleaner (4 days a week), Farm Manager, 2 Gardeners, 2 Farm workers.

House/Estate Manager duties

  • To run the household and assist with maintenance and repair of other properties on the estate.
  • Organising and supervising contractors for Electricity, Plumbing, WiFi, Security, Lift Maintenance, indoor Pool Maintenance when needed, Tennis Court, and Pumps.
  • Hands-on with maintenance and repairs (clearing gutters, drains)
  • Driving duties (station, airport runs)
  • Vehicle maintenance
  • Window cleaning
  • Ordering heating oil, weekly pool maintenance, weekly car maintenance and servicing
  • Vacuuming the tennis court
  • Auto Gate Maintenance
  • Supervising collections and deliveries
  • Jointly help with some dog walking and care when we are away, and looking after 8 hens.
  • Jointly help with cleaning outdoor sculptures and furniture.

Housekeeper/Cook duties

  • All general housekeeping duties
  • Laundry and ironing
  • Care of antiques, leather and silverware
  • Cooking healthy family meals (Mediterranean/British meals)
  • To help harvest fruit and veg from the walled garden and orchard when required.
  • Shopping and running errands
  • Jointly help with some dog walking and care when we are away, and looking after 8 hens.
  • Jointly help with cleaning outdoor sculptures and furniture.

Start date: When the right couple is found 

Working week: 5 days a week, to include weekends. To have one weekend off a month.

Accommodation: Modern 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom detached cottage on the estate included with private access, a garage and garden. All bills paid (bar food) including rates, internet, council tax. Pets will be considered. Non-smokers essential.

Salary: £80,000 gpa, negotiable dependent on experience

Driving: Essential, both must be confident drivers
