Domestic Couple – Private Estate, Perthshire, Scotland
Greycoat Lumley’s client has an excellent opportunity for an experienced and capable Domestic Couple to join a Private Household on a beautiful rural estate in Perthshire.
The Principals are warm, friendly and welcoming, and spend approximately six months of the year at the property. They are looking for a reliable couple who will take genuine pride in caring for their home and estate, ensuring everything is kept in excellent order throughout the year.
This is a varied, hands-on position suited to a couple who are self-starters, practical and happy to turn their hand to a wide range of tasks.
Responsibilities will include:
- High-standard housekeeping and general care of the property
- Laundry and ironing
- Family style cooking
- Keeping the house organised, tidy and well presented
- Driving the Principals when required
- Running errands and assisting with day-to-day household requirements
- General DIY and general maintenance
- Keeping the estate, grounds and surrounding areas tidy and in good order
- General gardening and garden maintenance
- Maintenance and ongoing development and improvement of the gardens
- Working alongside contractors and tradespeople where required
- Ensuring the property and grounds are maintained and ready for the Principals' arrival
The successful couple will be discreet, trustworthy, practical and hardworking, with a genuine pride in their work.
They should be confident working independently and have a strong 'muck-in' attitude, with the ability to see what needs doing and get on with it without needing constant direction.
Practical skills, DIY experience and an interest in gardening would be a real advantage.
Previous experience within a private household, estate environment would be beneficial.
Full driving licences are essential, as driving the Principals is an important part of the role.
Salary: £70,000 to £80,000 GPA
