Couple Job, Housekeeper and Caretaker – West Cork, Ireland
Greycoat Lumleys are delighted to be seeking a professional and experienced Couple for a privately owned estate in a stunning location of County Cork, Ireland.
This role will suit a Couple with previous experience, and who want to experience an outdoors lifestyle and work in a very impressive property surrounded by local community, with plenty to do as it is a popular tourist area.
The Couple will primarily be caretakers, housekeeper and general maintenance for the estate working alongside other members of staff, some full time, some part time and some there when the Principal is in residence. The Principal is in residence for 4 to 5 months in the summer from May to September.
The Couple must be professional, hardworking and flexible. Previous Couples who have been in the role have thoroughly enjoyed working for the Principal, the duties and the location.
Duties include:
- All aspects of general housekeeping – cleaning, dusting, mopping and hoovering – there are 3 properties, occasionally all occupied
- Laundry and ironing
- Changing bed linen
- Grocery shopping
- Daily cooking of 3 simple meals for Principal (by arrangement with the family). There will be a private chef when the Principal is in residence
- Running errands, collecting and dropping guests to the airport (automatic car provided for work purposes)
- Gardening, keeping clean court yards and terraces - there are full-time gardeners
- Cleaning cars and buggies
- Working with the head gardener and housekeeper, preparing the house for family visits and guests
- Maintenance of the swimming pool and lakes. Working alongside the contractors and companies who service and maintain the pool and lakes
Candidates should be:
- Motivated and able to spot what needs doing
- Organised with good time management skills
- A strong interest in boats would be beneficial
- Attention to detail
- Must be dog Friendly (one dog)
- Non-smokers
- Need for discretion and respect for the Principal and guests' privacy
- Passports and driving licences are required
- May suit a Couple who are travelling from overseas
Accommodation: Separate accommodation provided, council tax is covered by the Principals (Not suitable for children)
Use of a car provided, travel expenses covered
Working days: 5 days per week and flexibility when the Principals and/or guests are in residence
Salary: £100,000 joint depending on experience (paid in €)

Annual bonus of 5% to 10% of salary based on performance
