Live-in Housekeeper / Property Maintenance Couple – Private Family Residence, St Lawrence, Jersey
A lovely returning client of Greycoat Lumleys is seeking an experienced, personable, and proactive couple to join their private family residence in beautiful St Lawrence, Jersey. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a hands-on couple looking to become part of a warm, informal, and welcoming household. The family are a young couple with two children aged 10 and 5, along with two friendly Bernese Mountain Dogs. No specific dog care duties are required.
The family are looking for a couple who will complement each other's skills. While one partner will primarily oversee the housekeeping and smooth running of the home, the other will focus on the maintenance, gardens, and overall care of the property. The family are also happy to tailor aspects of the role around the successful couple's strengths and interests. If one partner enjoys cooking, they would be delighted to include family meal preparation, and if either partner enjoys occasional childcare support, this can also form part of the role.
Partner One – Housekeeper
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the household, including:
Maintaining the home to an exceptionally high standard
Laundry and ironing
Wardrobe management and organisation
Grocery shopping and household errands
Household inventory and supplies management
Household administration
Family cooking, if desired
Occasional childcare support, if preferred
Partner Two – Property & Grounds Manager
The second partner will be responsible for the care and upkeep of the property, including:
Gardening and grounds maintenance
General property maintenance and repairs
Preventative maintenance and routine inspections
Liaising with and overseeing contractors and tradespeople
Managing maintenance schedules and household projects
Equipment maintenance and organisation
Supporting the overall smooth operation of the estate
Requirements
Previous experience working within a private household or on a Yacht
A proactive, organised, and flexible approach
Ability to work independently and use initiative
High standards of presentation and attention to detail
Full driving licence required (a vehicle will be provided)
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with rare weekend work.
Salary: Good Salary depending on experience.
Accommodation: A separate, newly renovated cottage is provided, offering excellent private accommodation for the successful couple. Well-behaved pets are also welcome.
