Domestic Couple – Private Family Estate, Sevenoaks, Kent
A returning client is seeking an experienced, proactive, and versatile Domestic Couple to join their private family estate in Sevenoaks, Kent. As the children have grown and both parents work full time, the family are looking for reliable support to ensure the smooth, day-to-day running of their home.
The family consists of two adults and two teenage children, with the youngest heading to boarding school this September. The property is a six-bedroom main house set within lovely grounds. The family also have cats, so pet care and sitting will form part of the role during family holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities
The role offers a combined total of 40 hours per week (20 hours per partner, Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day), with duties divided between housekeeping and property management to provide comprehensive support to the estate:
Partner One (Housekeeper – 20 Hours): Responsible for daily tidying, light cleaning, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care. Additional duties include online grocery shopping, household administration, restocking supplies, simple food preparation (or batch cooking) for the teenagers, driving duties when required, and liaising with external contractors. A separate cleaner is employed for deep cleaning.
Partner Two (Handyman / Gardener / Groundsman – 20 Hours): Responsible for general property repairs, supporting grounds maintenance (a gardener also attends three times per week), estate security, driving duties, and liaising with tradespeople.
Joint Responsibilities: Pet sitting the family cats during summer holidays (approximately three weeks) and occasional long weekends.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience working together within a private household.
Full, clean driving licences (a vehicle will be provided for work duties).
A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach.
High standards of organisation and attention to detail.
Comfortable around pets and willing to provide cat sitting duties when the family are away.
Working Schedule, Accommodation & Package
Hours: 40 hours per week combined (20 hours each, Monday to Friday).
Start Date: September 2026 (or as soon as possible).
Salary: Competitive market rate, commensurate with experience.
Accommodation: A lovely, separate two-bedroom cottage situated on-site, complete with its own private garden. All utility bills and council tax are fully paid by the employer. A well-behaved pet may be considered.
