Idyllic Domestic Couple Job in Rural Coastal Belgium
An elite, semi-formal family based in rural Belgium is seeking a highly professional, hands-on Domestic Couple to manage their primary estate and holiday properties. This position requires a proactive, "concierge-style" approach to ensure the family's daily life runs seamlessly.
Position Overview
Household Structure: 3 family members (Monsieur, Madame, and a 12-year-old son).
Salary: circa €50,000 Gross Each (€100,000 Gross combined) per annum
Accommodation: Separate, premium housing provided on-site with all utility and energy costs fully covered.
Working Week: 5 days per week, requiring flexibility around the employers' changing needs
Staffing Structure: The family already employs other staff members, including a private chauffeur, professional chef, and live-out housekeeping staff. This is a collaborative environment requiring an exemplary team attitude.
General Candidate Requirements
Right to Work: EU right to work is preferred.
Driving: Both candidates must hold a clean, valid driving license.
Languages: Excellent command of English is mandatory (fluent French is a plus).
Family Preferences: Active, dynamic couples with no dependents and no pets.
Split Responsibilities
Role 1 (Focus on Maintenance, Logistics & Security)
Driving: Handling the school run and transporting the 12-year-old son to extracurricular activities like tennis. A strong emphasis is placed on safety and security.
Estate & Property Management: Checking the different houses on the main property, handling minor repairs, and coordinating/managing external suppliers for complex maintenance.
Gardening: Hands-on assistance with garden upkeep and outside maintenance (cleaning patios, washing windows).
Smart Home & AV Support: Ensuring all household systems function perfectly, including Wi-Fi, TVs, music systems, and kitchen appliances.
Animal Care: Daily feeding and care of the family's animals (dog, chickens, donkeys).
Holiday Properties: Travelling to inspect and manage the apartment in Knokke (North Sea coast). Travelling to Courchevel twice a year to open and close the ski property before and after the season.
Hospitality: Assisting the professional chef and serving during important dinners.
Role 2 (Focus on Housekeeping, Wardrobe & Hospitality)
Daily Housekeeping: Keeping the main residence clean, organized, and maintained to the highest standards.
Wardrobe Management: Complete care of the family's clothes, ensuring thorough knowledge of inventory and storage locations. Handling laundry, delicate fabrics, and ironing.
Packing: Managing luggage preparation and unpacking for the family's frequent travels.
Light Cooking: Preparing simple meals when the chef is off (e.g., breakfasts, eggs, salads, steaks, pasta).
Home Organization: Proactively managing household stock, making suggestions when items need to be renewed, replaced, or upgraded.
Hospitality: Working alongside the chef to assist with food preparation and service during important dinners.
