Couples Job Herefordshire / Welsh Borders – excellent varied role for a country loving couple – start asap / early 2018

(46424) Our client is looking for a flexible, motivated and kind couple to take on an exciting and very varied Couples role looking after a family farm in the Welsh Borders. The role will be working between two homes on a family estate and you will not only be assisting with domestic and estate duties but also helping with the family business, especially in the summer months. The property has wonderful views over the river Wye and is close to the town of Hay-on-Wye.

The core of the role will be based around Housekeeping for the clients parents who live in a well appointed farm house just across the fields from the main family home. The parents are both in their 80s and are active but they require someone to help with cleaning, housekeeping and basic cooking in the mornings during the week. You will also need to be a confident driver as the couple will need help with driving to appointments and shopping for example. There is the opportunity to work additional hours helping with cleaning the holiday lets and if the candidate has good administrative skills you may also be able to help with some secretarial work.

The partner will have a varied role and the client can be flexible and mould the role to a degree around the skills and experience of the candidate. The important part of the role will be to help with delivery driving for the clients food business in the busy summer months. This will be to drive a van to make deliveries into London and Oxfordshire for 2 days every 2 weeks during July / August / September. As you will be representing the family business you need to have good people skills and be friendly and helpful with the customers.

Along side this during the summer and the rest of the year the role can be flexible around the candidates skills but would ideally include part-time game keeping as the family are keen to reinstate the family rough shoot. Other skills may include forestry work, general maintenance gardening, general household and estate maintenance, stone work, fencing and helping with the dogs.

The most important thing to the family is to find a country loving, happy, flexible, kind couple with a good sense of humour who are looking for a long-term role and to become part of the wider estate family.

Working hours will be part-time for the Housekeeper and full-time for the partner although part-time will also be considered for the right candidate.

A local couple will be considered but a 3/4 bed house can be provided (family and pets considered although it is a working farm) – rent free and the client will cover the council tax – furnished or unfurnished. Large own garden and views over the Wye.

Start asap / early 2018

Salary based around £18,000 - £20,000 gpa for the full-time person and £10.00 gross per hour for the part-time person
