An up and coming client of ours who are growing rapidly are looking for an Executive Chef to join their Catering Company. You will have full responsibility for the running and production kitchen(s). You will be in charge of curating menus, budgeting for food and labour costs and ensuring the kitchen is compliant with all Health & Safety requirements.


Key responsibilities

  • To schedule and coordinate the work of chefs and other kitchen employees to ensure that food preparation is economical, technically correct and within budgeted labour cost goals

  • To ensure a high standard of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout the kitchen at all times

  • To evaluate all food products to ensure that company quality standards are consistently maintained

  • To curate original menus for Spook and to create standard recipes and techniques, allergens and instructions related to each individual dish

  • To create, implement and manage procedures to minimise waste - Supervise the cooking and preparation of all food for events

  • Constantly train and review training plans for kitchen staff

  • To recruit, vet and train new kitchen staff as required for both preparation and events - Develop, implement and manage policies and procedures to ensure kitchen is productive and efficient

  • Establish and maintain and regular cleaning schedule

  • To find and develop relationships with suppliers, ensuring the produce is consistent quality and price

  • Ensure HACCP procedures and documentation is kept up to date and applied in all areas of the kitchen

Key Tasks

  • Manage a stock control system and communicate current stock levels to sales team if necessary Key results / objectives

  • To manage the profitability of the kitchen

  • To ensure that menus are up-to-date and relevant for our target market

  • Ensure menu costing is in line with budgets set

  • Continual development of dishes and menus in line with company growth and target markets

  • Ensuring the kitchen is staffed efficiently and with correctly skilled personnel

  • Report up to Management Team on all aspects of kitchen management Responsible for staff / equipment

  • Responsible for overall aspects of kitchen staff and production management

  • Responsible for the proper use and care of all kitchen equipment

  • Responsible for proper use and care of kitchen equipment when on site at events
