Our Client is a Michelin Star Chef launching a new events company and he is looking for an experienced executive sales director who has a proven track record for Business Development within a luxury events company, an event catering company or a hotel.

The core event business will be situated in High Wycombe in a purpose built premises. As the Executive Sales Director you will be required to come into the office once a week but the remaining 4 days you will be able to work remotely. As the Sales Director you will seeking new business opportunities, selling an innovative portfolio of the company to both chains, independents & more, liaising with buyers and purchasing. As the first person on the ground you will have an excellent opportunity and the freedom to build a team around you based on your success. This role is pivotal to the drive for new business sales.

As a Sales Director, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Seeking out major clients and forming working relationships with the premier buyers in the industry. 

  2. Identifying valuable emerging markets

  3. Accurately forecasting future sales and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the marketplace

  4. Serving as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expositions

  5. Maximizing company profit

  6. Foreseeing and avoiding stagnation in the marketplace

  7. Forming sales strategies to keep your company competitive and innovative

  8. Supports the Sales teams in generating leads and referring business by analysing current business, denied business and identifying potential new business through the office

  9. Delivers a pro-active sales culture within the Office to ensure all budgeted revenues are achieved

  10. Follows-up with guests to determine satisfaction; measures results and supports strategies to improve the quality of the guest experience

  11. People developer/exporter

The right candidate will:

  • Have a proven track record for Business Development within a luxury events company, an event catering company or a hotel

  • Be committed to continuously educating yourself by attending professional workshops, industry events, certification courses, and reviewing professional publications

  • Have good people skills

  • Have strong business sense and ability to forecast major shifts in the marketplace you work in

  • Expert in the industry & an understanding of what drives demand in the market

  • Love working with numbers & in sales

  • An expert negotiator

  • A good mentor and coach

  • Effectively and proactively discipline employees when they fail in their duties

  • Handle stress well


Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 DOE + Bonus (£70,000 - £75,000 OTE)+ Travel Expenses

Hours: Monday – Friday

1 day a week in the High Wycombe office, the other 4 days can be worked remotely.

28 days holiday
