Full Time All-Rounder Job

Live-in All-rounder Job near Burford, Cotswolds

Our wonderful clients are seeking a dedicated and discreet housekeeper to care for their refurbished 5-bedroom rural property in the Cotswolds, which boasts stunning views of the countryside. The property sits on 3.5 acres of land, on the edge of a village, and is easy to access. The family is informal and friendly, but they are looking for someone who will be careful and considerate of their home, maintaining it to the highest standards.  Both parents are full-time professionals, with working lives divided between London and at home, and occasionally travelling.

This role is 40 hours of work per week. The family has two school-age sons who attend boarding school.  They have a dog and two cats. The family values their staff highly; their first nanny was with them for nine years.

Duties to include:

  • Housekeeping to a high standard

  • Running reasonable errands, dealing with deliveries

  • Laundry and ironing, including care of delicate fabrics

  • Cooking nutritious and healthy food for the children occasionally during school holidays

  • During school holidays dropping the children to activities etc

  • Cooking for the whole family and for dinner parties would be a bonus

  • Provisioning for the household and ensuring the home is organised

  • Some driving duties

  • Animal care

  • Arranging and liaising with contractors and reporting any faults with the property to the principals

  • House and pet sitting when the family are away

  • Keeping the pool and tennis court areas, and exterior of the property, clean & tidy

  • Organising to have the cars valeted and serviced

  • Pa duties

The ideal person would be child-friendly, pet-friendly, kind, caring and considerate, and a ‘team player’. You will need to have good timekeeping and organisational skills. The Principals seek someone who is proactive, and motivated to take responsibility for their own work.  Feedback and communication is really important to them.  You will need to be a driver with a clean license. An automatic car is provided for work purposes, but the candidate will need their own car because of the location.

The role also includes caring for the family dog while the family is away on holiday, for up to five weeks per year. During these periods, you will be responsible for feeding the dog at 7:00am and 7:00pm. As these are the only required feeding times, you will have the flexibility to take a longer break during the day.

In addition, you will be required to babysit approximately one evening every two to three weeks while the parents are in London for work.
