Gardener / Housekeeper Couple Job nr Newark Nottinghamshire – start asap
(44066) Our client is looking for an experienced Gardener / Housekeeper Couple to help them with the development of a new garden at a new family home near Newark.
The property, originally built in the 15th century, has been under renovation for the last 5 years and is due for completion in October 2017. In advance of its completion, our client is looking for an experienced Gardener to start asap and to work with the garden designer creating a family garden.
The garden itself will cover around 5 acres with 4 acres of woodland. There will be a tennis court, swimming pool, walled garden, vegetable garden and woodland areas to manage. The garden currently is being cleared of overgrowth and will be ready for work to commence in the coming weeks.
As the client is looking to employ a couple in the long run, the ideal would be to employ a couple now where the partner can help with the gardening until the house is ready later this year when they can then move over into more domestic duties or the Housekeeper can cover the housekeeping at their current home now which is nearby. This would be hands on cleaning, laundry, ironing, family cooking, help with the children (2 under 6), babysitting. Mothers help, running errands and driving. You will also help to look after two family dogs.
The gardener might have excellent horticultural skills or have more of a focus on general maintenance gardening with experience with hard and soft landscaping. The gardener will also be required to help with general household maintenance, dealing with contractors, occasional driving duties and security of the property. If they had an interest in country sports, it would also be helpful if you could travel with the employer on occasions and ask as a loader.
Excellent references and DBS required
Normally Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends
Accommodation offered is a separate 2/3 bed cottage (furnished or unfurnished) inclusive of utility bills (council tax and reasonable electricity usage – heating on main biomass)
