Live out Head Chef in large private household in Surrey:


Our client is seeking an experienced Head Chef, ideally from a hotel or high end restaurant background, to manage their kitchen and team. When the family are in residence it can be very busy and they will often hold corporate events there too. The ideal candidate will be a team player, organised, flexible and efficient.


Duties will include:

  • Running of the kitchen, which will include a Sous Chef and Kitchen Porter.

  • Ensuring that all the clients’ food needs are met. This will include providing all daily meals, as well as any snacks and/or afternoon tea, canapes etc., as required.

  • Providing catering for staff on a daily basis, with the help of the sous chef

  • Daily menu planning (with or without input from the client), family style buffets mostly

  • Shopping, provisioning, stock control, supplier relations.

  • Maintaining high levels of cleanliness, hygiene and standards in the kitchen daily, so that they comply with health and safety, food safety, COSHH and HACCP regulations.

  • Catering for events, whether formal or informal.

  • Catering for specialist and preferred diets and dietary requirements.

  • Budgeting and accounting for the running of the kitchen, whilst also minimising wastage.

  • Organising and writing staff rotas

  • Staff management and training of the Chefs as required.

  • Maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring that the best deal is reached, whilst maintaining the highest quality of ingredients and products.

  • 5 day week, days off depending on rota.
