Our Client have an exciting new role in South London for a Head Chef of Canapes. We are looking for someone with Catering Experience with Canapes and looking to work within a company, passionate about quality and excellence.


About the Role:

  • To work as a member of the kitchen brigade helping with the production of food for events, this will also include working on events as and when required.

  • To assist the head chefs with the smooth running of events kitchen.

  • To support, guide and train chefs both permanent and casual.

  • To prepare food in any areas of the kitchen assigned by a superior and to carry out cleaning and any reasonable duties requested.

  • To be able to take responsibility for the kitchen in the head chefs absence

The Ideal Candidate:



  • To report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and protective clothing and adhering to specified grooming standards

  • To help with the daily management of the events kitchen by assisting the head chefs.

  • To work within the company guidelines, taking responsibility that all chefs and porters work within these boundaries.

  • To minimize waste of any food products at all times

  • To ensure that the kitchen areas are kept safe and any dangerous or hazardous areas are dealt with quickly

  • To ensure that operating equipment is kept clean and is looked after to avoid any breakages

  • To work cleanly and tidily at all times and ensure the team are working using best practices

  • To help the head chefs and senior chefs maintain the kitchen “Team Spirit”

  • To maintain good working relationships with all other colleagues and motivate the teams around you both in the kitchen and front of house

  • To ensure that recipes and standards are adhered to at all times

  • Monitor and check the work carried out by all chefs

  • To produce the volume of orders on a day to day basis in the set time

  • Order all ingredients working within the budget

  • Assist the head chefs to create the mis en place lists and order food

  • Assist with producing and serving tastings at the unit

  • To assist in the production of new menus and bespoke menus for events

  • Careful documentation of all new dishes and cooking procedures





Regular catch-ups with management, and twice-yearly appraisals

Salary: £32,000 + Bonus
