Head Gardener Job Near Inverness
Greycoat Lumleys client are seeking an experienced Gardener to join their team. The Principal’s grounds consist of a business, farm and private residence with gardens open to the public. There is a real focus on organic and bio-dynamic. The Principal also designs gardens for clients and there will be involvement in those gardens too.
The Principal’s aim is to improve biodiversity within the farm and also in the gardens they install for clients.
They are also increasingly developing a fruitful relationship within the community and are starting a pilot scheme with local charities and schools.
The role will be to develop and maintain 10 acres of gardens and woodland liaising with the gardener in charge of vegetable production, organising the help he needs and assisting with the planting element of the commissioned gardens. There will be overall responsibility for gardening staff and volunteers.
The Head Gardener will be responsible for the upkeep of all machinery, equipment and tools.
The Head Gardener will report to the Principal and have 3 gardeners and woofers/Volunteers reporting into them.

Start: Will wait for the right person
Salary: £25,000 per annum, rising to £26,000 after 12 months
Accommodation: Can be offered initially with a view to the gardener finding somewhere locally
Annual leave : 28 days including bank holidays
Hours: November to February inclusive 9am - 4pm
March to October inclusive 8am - 6pm
