Head Housekeeper / House Manager Job Nottinghamshire

(45356) Our client is looking for an experienced Head Housekeeper to run a large property in Nottinghamshire. You will be working with a small team of household staff and this role will be hands on as well as being a position requiring management experience.

The House Manager will be expected to oversee the day-to-day running of this busy family household, heading up the Housekeeping team with a high degree of autonomy to maintain a high standard of presentation.

They are expected to work with other members of the team to deliver the highest level of service to the family. They will be expected to be extremely hands-on and to have relevant skills and experience.


Candidates will need to have a good knowledge of cleaning methods and the proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment to deliver the highest possible levels of cleanliness and tidiness

Ensuring the security of the property, including but not limited to, making a visual inspection of the property on a daily basis.

Efficiently and effectively manage shooting parties.

Preparation and checks of guest rooms before visitor arrivals.

Re-stock basic household groceries, including cat food and bathroom toiletries, ensuring the pantry is appropriately stocked when the family returns following time away.

Animals to be fed when the family are absent and any necessary vet visits undertaken.

To assist with food preparation as required.

High level of laundry service, including the care of fine clothing and luxury accessories, hand washing delicate fabrics as required, the delivery and collection of dry cleaning and ironing and putting away of clothing.

Wardrobe Management

Notify the Works Department of any minor repairs/maintenance required in the house.

Organising staff rotas and holidays in order to optimise resource, liaising with the Personal Assistant regarding dates when the family are away. Being flexible and making staffing arrangements, sometimes at short notice due to unexpected guests.

To undertake any other reasonable duties required by the Employer.


This role is offered on both a live in or out basis. There are a number of options available for accommodation if needed

Full-time mostly Monday to Friday with some flexibility on weekends
