Housekeeper / Cook Job Shropshire

(52286) A highly recommended role has become available on an estate in rural Shropshire for Housekeeper / Cook to take over from the current lady who is retiring after 18 years with the family.

This is a highly sought after role where the client will consider both those candidates with previous experience in a similar household role, a hotel background or someone with transferable skills but you must be professional and have excellent references.

The role covers a 30 hour working week normally 8am to 3pm with an hours break plus additional overtime paid for occasional evenings and weekends.

The role is a mix of both hands on housekeeping working alongside two daily housekeepers as well as cooking for the employers.

A simple breakfast is required and a good home cooked lunch and dinner to be left ready for the evening.  Menus are agreed with the employer and they enjoy fresh home cooked food using produce from the garden wherever possible.

The house is kept to a high standard and all members of the housekeeping staff have their own areas to maintain as well as covering each other when the house is busy or when someone is away.

Other responsibilities with this role include household and personal laundry, security of the property, helping with the household dogs and shopping / errands.  Flexibility is key but the family are respectful and in return look for discretion, professionalism and a good sense of humour.

It is important that you are keen to settle long-term and be part of the estate and local community and preferably have links with the area.

You will be required to be in residence (3 bedroom house close to the main house) some weekends for shared security, and owners dog responsibility with the Handyman.

Accommodation is offered free of rent and council tax and is unfurnished with its own private garden – families considered
