Full-time Live-in Housekeeper Job in Gloucestershire
A lovely new client of Greycoat Lumleys is seeking a live-in Housekeeper to support them in their beautiful farmhouse residence near Tetbury. The client is a single, older gentleman who is looking for a kind, reliable, and easy-going individual to assist with the smooth running of the household.
The property is an 8-bedroom farmhouse, although the rooms are not always in use. The role will include general housekeeping, light cooking, and household organisation, ensuring the home is kept clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The client’s family frequently visit at weekends, so assistance with preparing and changing bed linen will be required when they leave.
Duties include:
General cleaning and housekeeping
Laundry and ironing
Changing and maintaining bed linen, particularly after weekend family visits
Grocery shopping and household provisioning
Simple cooking and meal preparation
Light administrative and household tasks
Organising and maintaining household order
The client has a friendly Labrador and some chickens, so the ideal candidate must be pet-friendly and comfortable in a rural setting.
The ideal candidate:
Kind, calm, and easy-going personality
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to use initiative
Reliable and confident working independently
Comfortable in a countryside environment with animals
Previous housekeeping experience preferred
Accommodation: Large en-suite bedroom with a private television area.
Working week: Monday – Friday
Hours: Approximately 4–5 hours per day (20–30 hours per week)
Salary: £18 – £20 gross per hour
Start date: As soon as the right candidate is found
