Private Household Nanny/Housekeeper Scottish Borders
Greycoat Lumley’s client are a warm and welcoming family living in the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside with a happy one-year-old daughter and much-loved animals. Seeking a kind trustworthy, organised and proactive Nanny/Housekeeper who takes genuine pride in creating a happy, safe and well-run home.
This is a varied and rewarding role requiring flexibility, initiative and a genuine love of children, animals and countryside life. The successful candidate will play an important role in caring for the daughter, maintaining the home to an exceptionally high standard and supporting the smooth running of the household.
Duties Include;
Childcare
Provide attentive, nurturing and safe care for one-year-old toddler, with a constant focus on her safety and wellbeing.
Accompany mother on occasional outings, appointments and errands
Attend toddler to local groups, classes and outings Encourage learning through age-appropriate developmental play, reading, music and creative activities.
Prepare healthy snacks, meals and drinks
Keep our toddler’s bedroom, nursery and play areas clean, organised and well stocked.
Very occasional overnight support may be required with advance notice. Additional pay and/or time off in lieu will be provided.
Cooking
Plan and prepare a wide variety of nutritious home-cooked meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Organise cupboards, stock rotation and grocery lists.
Batch cook where appropriate.
Assist with food shopping and thoughtful meal planning.
Housekeeping
Maintain an exceptionally clean, organised and welcoming home.
Daily cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas.
Laundry, ironing, wardrobe care and linen management.
Support household organisation, including cupboards, storage areas and seasonal items.
Prepare the two-bedroom holiday cottage between guest stays to a high standard.
Prepare the self-contained family apartment before relatives visit by refreshing bedding, cleaning throughout and ensuring everything is welcoming.
Monitor household supplies and advise when replacements are needed.
Respect the family’s privacy and maintain complete confidentiality.
Animal Care
Feed and care for four cats
Occasionally assist with caring for three fish tanks.
Occasionally assist with caring for our chickens, including feeding, collecting eggs and cleaning the coop using appropriate protective equipment.
Family Support
Occasionally collect or drop off relatives using either the family vehicle or your own vehicle (mileage reimbursed where applicable).
Hourly rate: £15 - £17 gross
Hours: 25 hours per week over 3 days (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
Typical Working Hours: Approximately 10:00am–6:30pm
Occasional Overtime: Additional paid hours may occasionally be available by mutual agreement and with advance notice.
Non-smoker necessary.
Paid mileage where applicable.
Family vehicle available for work duties where appropriate.
