A leading Independent boarding and day School for girls aged 11-18 situated in the beautiful East Sussex. The School has a tradition of academic achievement with impressive GCSE and A Level results, a vibrant and eclectic extra-curricular provision and an enviable reputation for pastoral care.

This boarding School is seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate, with a proven track record in boarding and pastoral care, to lead and develop boarding provision in thier Middle School. 

  • To provide all boarders in the House with the best possible experience of a boarding education by ensuring a challenging and supportive environment: a home from home for boarders.

  • To ensure the safety, good discipline, spiritual and moral guidance and pastoral well being of all pupils in the House.

  • To manage the staffing, organisation and resources of the House.

  • To establish excellent relationships with pupils based on trust and respect.

  • taking part of year group assemblies and participate in the School functions.

  • To oversee Health & Safety standards

  • To run the ‘House Council’ for pupils that meets regularly to discuss any issues concerning the House.

  • To develop in the pupils a sense of responsibility and sensitivity to the difficulties and needs of others, and to encourage such support and help for each other as is appropriate.

  • To ensure the safety and security of all girls in the House at all times when they are in the School’s care.

  • To keep suitable records of pupils’ welfare, health, emotional problems, achievements and misconduct. To be especially careful of records pertaining to trips and visits, permission to stay away with guardians or friends.

  • Develop good links with Form Tutors; the Head of Lower School; the Health Centre and the School Doctor to ensure that relevant information is communicated and shared appropriately.

  • To liaise closely and regularly with parents and guardians

The successful candidate should be commitment to the education of girls and the ethos of the School. He or she will be responsible for the care and well-being of our boarders, manage the boarding house staff and is expected to be involved in all aspects of life, including teaching a reduced academic timetable.

Accommodation is provided as this is a residential post.
