Temporary Houseparent required for Boarding House at a Private Co-Ed School near Reading in Berkshire.
They are seeking a houseparent to join them from the beginning of January until the end of June 2019 to work in one of their boys boarding houses for students aged 13 – 18.
The houseparent will play a key role in providing pastoral support and guidance to the pupils in the boarding house. The school has approximately 70 students in total with 50 boarders spread across two houses. The school has a lot of international students and prides itself on bridging the gap between school and university. This is great opportunity for someone who is a responsible and compassionate individual with experience of caring for young adults in a teaching or coaching environment.
Duties will include:
Supporting pupils regarding any emotional, academic, social or behavioral problems and achievements
To assist with creating extracurricular activities to ensure pupils are occupied
Provide direct support to pupils and staff in managing all aspects of the health, welfare and pastoral care of pupils adhering to relevant school policies at all times
Ensure pupils’ medical requirements are catered for and encourage a healthy lifestyle
A driver is not essential for this role but would be of benefit
All meals provided when on duty
Start: January 2019
Accommodation: own bedroom and living area plus en-suite within the boarding house
Rate of Pay: £18,000 plus pro rata
