Property/House Manager Job London

Our clients require an experienced Property /House Manager to maintain and organise their numerous properties. Their main two residences are both in North London and they also have properties overseas. This is a hands-on Management role so candidate must have confidence and experience with high tech households. The candidate will have overall responsibility for the maintenance, upkeep and routine servicing of the properties.

Candidates must have experience working within private households and with listed buildings preferred.

The properties are both listed and full of complicated equipment.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Responding to the family’s requests to arrange repairs or carry out adjustments to the properties or systems as quickly as is practical.

  • Regular (weekly) inspection of the properties to test systems and identify wants of repair so they can be rectified without delay.

  • Liaise with corporate IT to ensure properties IT is functional

  • Provide a weekly report to the family to advise as to progress on all property related matters.

  • Manage security of property including being the main point of contact with the alarm monitoring service

  • Manage/coordinate projects such as refurbishment, construction, major landscaping etc.

  • Regular reporting to family/family office with regard to changes/delays with projects.

  • Continually monitor all aspects of health and safety at the houses

  • Management of gardening and household staff and contractors including monitoring of general performance, supervision of largest gardening and landscaping projects.

  • Coordination with other household staff/family members.

  • Liaise with the family office to make sure all insurance requirements are met, and any information that would be relevant to the insurers is passed to the family office.

  • Knowledge of antiques or other valuable items that will require special care

  • Ensure the properties and assets are being maintained in accordance with agreed programmes

  • Carry out periodic visits to the properties in London and overseas & working with staff at properties to ensure they are maintained to the required standard and are ready for family / guest visits

  • Instruct and monitor repair and maintenance work as required

  • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for the family properties to submit to the CFO for review

Candidates must be/have:

  • Total discretion

  • Proven experience in a similar position

  • Excellent references

  • Must be proactive

  • Excellent negotiating skills

  • Be resourceful and have proficient knowledge of and be up to date with technologies and systems of the household.

  • Strong enough to challenge or direct suppliers and staff
