Live in Cook in Oxfordshire, ASAP start, £25,000 - £30,000 gpa
Our client, a family of 7 people, is seeking an experienced family cook to join their team at their large country estate home in rural Oxfordshire. The house is open to the public so during the summer months, the cook is required to prepare simple lunches and cream teas for a small tea room on site.
The family consists of an older couple who require a daily breakfast and then a lunch to be prepared and left for them to heat up themselves later. The younger family, with three school age children, would like just an evening meal prepared for them. All members of the family enjoy a variety of dishes ranging from Traditional British to International cuisines, they have no specific dietary requirements. They eat in relaxed, family style unless they entertain when they would like more fine dining. This is a lovely role for a cook to be creative and produce varied and interesting menus.
Aside from the family style cooking, during the months of April-September, there is a small tea room at the main house which is open to the public on Sunday afternoons. During July and August it is open four afternoons a week. They serve simple, fresh dishes such as quiche and salad and cream teas.
The ideal candidate will be varied, flexible, adaptable and enthusiastic to be challenged. Ideally they require a driver with their own car.
Hours: 5 days per week to include weekends (usually Tuesday and Wednesday off)
Accommodation: lovely comfortable two bedroom flat with own bathroom, living room and kitchen in a separate wing of the household. All utilities are included but the candidate is responsible for phone and broadband. Partners welcome.
