Working very much as a team, your duties, both individually and jointly, as and where appropriate, will include, but not be limited to, the following:-

  • Houseman/Butler duties to serve at table when the family entertain

  • Front of house duties to meet and greet

  • General Household maintenance

  • Housekeeper duties in the house

  • Looking after the cellars

  • Driving duties including, driving on company business, school runs, airport runs, to London, and generally for James and Selina

  • Keeping the cars in very good condition including organising services, MOT’s, fuelling and maintenance

  • Supervising the swimming pool maintenance

  • Care of dogs and other pets and be happy with animals in general

  • Being on site for security of the house

  • Hands on cleaning, laundry and ironing

  • Cooking for family and for small dinner parties

  • Shopping for the household

  • Looking after children and babysitting

  • Handyman and caretaking duties

  • Occasional babysitting

When the family, are in residence they will require a Butler service for mainly informal occasions but also fully formal events which will involve meeting and greeting guests and serving.

They have four boys aged from 20 to 27 who spend varying degrees of time at the home, so these periods can be busy, and they have a six year old daughter who is permanently at home, so babysitting duties may be required.

There is a team of gardeners, who look after the private grounds, and although there are no specific gardening duties involved, the ideal candidates would need to be able to work effectively as part of a team and interact well with others employees who live and work on the estate.

The family travel during the school holidays and you may have to travel with them for two weeks maximum at any one time, and stay away on occasion. This would be on an ad hoc basis.
