A recently renovated property for a Couple who will use the property as their weekend residence are looking for an experienced Couple to run help run their home to high standards and ensure the house is ready for their arrival at weekends. They will entertain with family and guests, the house will be a typical weekend residence where sometimes it will be very busy and then there will be quiet times where you won’t see the principals for a few weeks at a time.
A House Manager is employed at the property and also travels with Principals, so you should be happy to work as part of a team but also be responsible for the up keep of a large house as there will be times when you will working alone.
The property has 12 bedrooms, you will be responsible for cleaning and should have experience in looking after fine fabrics, artwork and antiques
When they are in residence one of you would be expected to Cook breakfast and occasional family meals for them
For parties and other entertainments which there will be shooting weekends they will get a freelance chef to cater for them
Houseman duties will include maintenance of the property, assisting the house manager overseeing contractors, security of the house and helping inside the house when required.
You will be required to look after the cars and valet them, occasional driving duties at the weekends if needed.
They will be getting 2 working dogs so you would be looking after them when they arrive and caring for the dogs.
They do employ 3 gardeners on the estate to look after the 35 acres, however you will be expected to help at times when required
This role is for a Couple who have experience and are flexible in their duties, it’s a new property to the principals so a nice position to set up systems that work for you in running the home
You should have a key eye for detail and run the home like a boutique hotel, of course extra staff will be employed for the busier times.
Duties to include:
Hands on Housekeeping, washing and ironing
All provisioning for household and cleaning items and carrying out inventories and stock taking
Cooking light meals and breakfasts for the principals
Ensure the household is ready for the principals arrival and their guests
Ensure all household equipment (including lighting and AV systems) are in sound working order
Liaising with House Manager regarding contractors and doing general maintenance
Swimming Pool Maintenance
Driving duties to include local errands and looking after the cars
Care of two dogs
Security of the Estate
Accommodation: 2 bedroom Cottage
Days of week: 5 days per week (working weekends with occasional ones off when the principals are away)
