Live In Housekeeper Job in Virginia Water, Surrey

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced and professional Housekeeper to join a welcoming private household and support the smooth running of a beautiful five-bedroom primary residence in Virginia Water, Surrey.

The household is occupied by two adults, with their grown children and families visiting periodically throughout the year. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Housekeeper who takes pride in maintaining a home to an exceptionally high standard.

The successful candidate will be proactive, organised, discreet and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and anticipate the needs of the household. Alongside excellent housekeeping skills, the role will involve light household support, laundry, ironing and general household organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the home.

  • Carrying out all daily housekeeping duties, ensuring the property is consistently clean, tidy and well organised.

  • Managing laundry and ironing to a high professional standard.

  • Caring for household linens, clothing and wardrobes, including organisation and seasonal changes where required.

  • Ensuring bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas are maintained to an impeccable standard.

  • Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked.

  • Monitoring household supplies and managing shopping lists to ensure the home is adequately stocked.

  • Purchasing household items and carrying out local errands as required.

  • Assisting with general household organisation and ad hoc tasks as required.

  • Working flexibly and proactively to support the principals with the smooth day-to-day running of the household.

  • Gardening duties

  • Liaise with tradesmen

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Housekeeper within a private household.

  • Excellent cleaning, housekeeping, laundry and ironing skills.

  • A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining a home to a very high standard.

  • A proactive, organised and flexible approach, with a positive can-do attitude.

  • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage workload efficiently.

  • Strong communication skills and a professional, helpful manner.

  • High levels of discretion, professionalism and trustworthiness.

  • Experience working around principals and within a private family environment.

  • A confident driving ability and clean driving licence is required 

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 gross per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00 am–12.30 pm and 3.30 pm–7.30 pm; Saturday, 8.00 am–12.30 pm. Occasional evening or out-of-hours driving may be required.

Accommodation: A spacious private and separate one-bedroom flat located above the garage, with its own kitchen and bathroom.
