Live-in Housekeeper Job in Surrey
A family based in Surrey is seeking an experienced, energetic, and proactive Live-in Housekeeper to join their household at their second home. The property is a second residence where they spend weekends and holidays. While the household is relaxed and informal, high standards, reliability, flexibility, and discretion are essential.
This is a long-term position suited to a capable all-rounder who can become a trusted and reliable member of the household team.
Duties to include:
Full housekeeping of the main residence, pool house, and gym to an exceptionally high standard, ensuring the property is always immaculate, presentable, and ready for family occupation
Laundry and ironing, including bed linen, with some wardrobe management as required
Ensuring the home remains well organised, tidy, and fully stocked at all times
Supporting with preparation of the home for guests and family visits
Occasional cover for the London housekeeper if required
Grocery shopping and sourcing fresh produce as needed, ensuring pantry and fridge are well stocked
Cooking would be a bonus
Assisting with and managing small informal events such as BBQs, lunches, and dinner parties
Liaising with contractors, overseeing works, and reporting issues promptly
Monitoring household security systems alongside the Property Manager, including CCTV and intruder/fire alarms
Running household errands as required
Previous experience within a private household in a similar role (5+ years) is essential. The ideal candidate will be discreet, professional, and take pride in their work. You will be highly organised, proactive, and capable of working independently, using your initiative and problem-solving skills where required. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with a flexible and can-do attitude. Candidates must be dog-friendly and comfortable working in a family environment with school-aged children. Non-smokers only.
Cooking would be considered a bonus rather than an essential requirement, however confidence with family-style meals is highly desirable.
Accommodation: Separate annex provided (all utilities, council tax, and Wi-Fi included). Pets and partners may be considered for the right candidate
House: Newly renovated large property
Working hours: 40 hours per week over 5 days, with two consecutive days off mid-week when the family are in residence. Occasional weekend work required during school holidays
Salary: Depending on experience
Annual Leave: 28 days including bank holidays
Start: July 2026 (flexible for the right candidate)
