Live In Housekeeper or Couple job for Rural Estate in Angus
Greycoat Lumleys' client are seeking a friendly, responsible, trustworthy, flexible, proactive person (or couple) for their estate. The right candidate will be proactive and efficient. They will be comfortable working alone and as part of a team as necessary overseeing the smooth running of the property.
The property has 13 bedrooms over three floors. It is an informal and friendly family home with four adults and two children over three generations in permanent residence, living over two households. Other family members and friends visit regularly.
General household cleaning, kitchen duties, dusting and polishing, hoovering and bed making. Special attention is given to antiques, antique furniture, silver, fabrics, etc. Ad hoc cleaning routines include internal windows, paintwork, high areas.
Laundry and ironing.
The potential to manage or work with a part-time cleaning employee.
Setting wood stove and fires. Managing supply of logs and coal.
Occasional food preparation for specific occasions, to various levels, ranging from soups and sandwiches to formal dinners, table setting and occasional table service.
Supervision of on-site contractors.
Reporting maintenance issues to appropriate Estate staff.
Alarm and fire systems knowledge with an awareness of House security.
Health and Safety knowledge required to enhance a safe living and working environment for all.
Overseeing, monitoring and management of the Biomass heating system to ensure it is fuelled and working efficiently.
Other minor tasks will arise that might include small amounts of driving, flower arranging, managing petty cash, data reporting, water supply monitoring.
Regular direct communications with all the principal family members and the estate staff who assist in the management and maintenance of the house but will ultimately report to one person.
Training will be provided where required for the right candidate.
Driving license required due to the rural location and duties.
No cats due to family's allergies but dogs are fine.
Hours: 40 per week over 5 days
typically 8.30am -5pm - however on occasion flexibility is required to include weekend work by prior arrangement and if wished assisting in hosting the shoot.
Holiday entitlement: 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays per annum
Live in accommodation: 2 bedroom self-contained flat within the House
Please note, it is possible that for the right candidate/s this role could be enhanced to include a second role for an individual with cleaning and maintenance/garden skills to work with the housekeeper and estate staff.
Salary: Dependant on experience and skills
