Live-in Housekeeper/Cook Job
A lovely family based on a beautiful private estate in Fawley, Hampshire are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Live-In Family Housekeeper/Cook to join their household. Set within the stunning New Forest National Park, the family home benefits from an extensive kitchen garden and access to exceptional local produce.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who enjoys cooking wholesome, nutritious meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients and who is equally happy assisting with housekeeping duties. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the household and will work closely with the Principals and gardener to make the most of the kitchen garden throughout the seasons.
The family enjoy simple, healthy food with an emphasis on high-quality ingredients rather than fine dining. They favour homegrown vegetables and fruit, grass-fed meat, fresh fish, game, free-range eggs, raw honey and locally sourced produce.
Duties to include:

Preparing family lunches and dinners from Thursday to Monday.

Preparing working lunches for the Principals when required.

Preserving and processing seasonal produce.

Grocery shopping and maintaining kitchen and household supplies.

Monitoring food budgets and keeping expenditure records.

Liaising with the gardener and Principals regarding seasonal produce.

Catering for small family gatherings and occasional larger outdoor events would be a bonus

Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, pantry, bar area and food storage.

Weekend housekeeping duties.

Occasional childcare as required (Youngest child is 10 years old)
The ideal candidate will:

Have previous experience in private households

Be confident preparing fresh, healthy family-style meals.

Enjoy working with seasonal produce and harvesting from a kitchen garden.

Be experienced in preparing meat, fish and game.

Be organised, proactive and able to work independently.

Be flexible and happy to assist with housekeeping duties.

Hold a full UK driving licence (essential).
Accommodation: Flat on the estate, separate from the house - no garden
Days & Hours: Thursday to Monday, up to 50 hours per week (flexibility required).
Salary: Depending on experience.
