Live In Couples Job Herefordshire – start asap
(45577) Our client is looking for a Junior Couple who will work for them as a Housekeeper / Handyperson at their home in rural Herefordshire. This is an excellent job for a couple who have some or no previous experience in this type of work but a couple who would like to gain experience and stay with the family for at least 2 years.
Although this is a family home, the children are either grown up or at boarding school, Mr lives in Birmingham during the week so it is normally just Mrs at home and she works. The family have pets including dogs, a cat, horses, chickens and pigs.
The property has a large garden of lawns, borders, hedges and woodland and there are 3 fields. There is a walled kitchen garden, a green house, established fruit brushes and trees. There is a lot of garden machinery which needs maintaining. They employ a gardener so no actual gardening is required. Cleaning of cars and occasional driving, daytime and evening, is also required.
The work in the house is mainly cleaning and laundry, with occasional assistance at house parties at the weekend. The house requires a constant flow of logs in the late autumn through to early spring. Also included is routine house maintenance, e.g. clearing the gutters, general DIY etc.
The couple occasionally will go away for the weekend and on these occasions we would expect you to be hands on with the security of the house, dogs and the other animals.
The position includes a bedroom, a bathroom, a Kitchen/diner and a sitting room. The utilities bills, council tax, TV licence and Internet are all paid, plus produce from the garden and eggs are available. There is also the use of a car, which is taxed and insured, only personal petrol to pay.
The working week is based on 40 hours each a week, primarily Monday to Friday, however there are some jobs required each day, e.g. feeding the chickens and filling up the logs during the winter months. Holidays are 28 days a year including Bank Holidays.
£9000 gross per annum each + accommodation
