Live out Gardener in Berkshire near Reading
This large family estate is looking for a creative, dynamic and proactive Head Gardener to come on board.
Other staff are employed such as a maintenance person, animal keepers and a trainee gardener to support the new Head Gardener and the principal.
The principal is very hands on about running their estate and this is their permanent residence.
Although they work with landscape designers, they welcome ideas and creative inputs as they would enjoy a collaborative working relationship and working together to get this garden to reach its full potential:
Duties include:
Planting, transplanting, fertilising, pruning, spraying, weeding, watering & managing pests & diseases
Managing the Green house
Some animal care
Maintenance of garden structures, equipment & supplies; safe use of machinery
General groundskeeping: mowing, mulching, strimming, raking & upkeep of paths & driveways
Start: As and when the right person is found
Working week: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week, some flexibility at weekends.
Driving: essential
Salary: £45,000 but negotiable and dependent on experience
