Live-out Housekeeper Job near Victoria
A lovely client of ours is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their beautiful home near Victoria. They have a teenage child who is at boarding school and grown-up children who no longer live at home but come to visit from time to time.
Two lovely dogs complete the family, who are kept in a kennel, and they employ a professional dog-walker. The family also employs another full-time Housekeeper, a full-time Cook/household assistant and a PA who you will report to. They are also currently seeking a separate part-time Laundress.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly, close-knit team with high standards. The family is looking for a reliable, proactive, and highly organised individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, well-organised and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional and discreet, with excellent housekeeping standards and previous experience in a similar role for at least 5 years.
You should be respectful of the family's privacy, confident working independently but also be a good team player, and child & pet friendly.
Duties to include:
Cleaning and daily upkeep of the property
Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
Keeping the home organised and well-presented
Ensuring household supplies are maintained and stocked
Taking the dogs out in the afternoon for 15-20 minutes (shared with the other household staff)
Feeding the dogs
Running occasional household errands
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the household
Assisting with packing and unpacking
Assisting when the family entertains - laying the table and serving food and drink at the table (they are happy to train you) - smaller family gatherings more regularly and big events only every 3 months or so
House: 5 storeys, 6 bedrooms + a small guest house in the garden with 1 additional bedroom
Working week: Monday to Friday and working every 3rd weekend (in rotation with the other staff). When working weekends, you will have 2 days off during the week.
Working hours: 9 hours per day including a 1-hour lunch break
Shifts are rotated with the other Housekeeper weekly:
Week A: from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm
Week B: from 10 am to 7 pm
Any extra time worked, such as when the family entertains, will be given back as time off in lieu.
Additionally, you will be required to work during the festive season at Christmas every 2-3 years.
Salary: up to £45k gross per annum (PAYE)
