Live out Housekeeper/Cook Job

Live out Housekeeper/Cook Job in Notting Hill, London

A returning client is seeking an experienced Housekeeper/Cook to join their household in Notting Hill. The family consists of a couple and their three young children aged between 9 and 14, alongside a Pomeranian dog and a bunny. This is a long-term position suited to a highly organised, discreet, and proactive candidate who is confident working independently while also communicating effectively with another housekeeper to ensure the smooth running of the home. The household is calm, structured, and informal in style, with high standards expected across housekeeping, cooking, organisation, and overall household management.

The family currently employs a morning housekeeper who works from 7 am to 4 pm, and they are now looking for a second housekeeper to oversee the afternoon and evening routine. The ideal candidate will be an excellent cook with strong menu planning skills, confident ironing abilities, and the flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of family life. The role requires someone who is self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to maintain a peaceful and unobtrusive presence within the household while ensuring everything runs seamlessly. Strong teamwork and communication with the existing housekeeper are essential to maintain continuous household coverage and organisation throughout the day.

Duties to include:

  • Maintain all areas of the home to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and organisation

  • Laundry care and ironing

  • Making and changing beds

  • Preparing and organising the children’s school uniforms and sports kits for the following day

  • Managing household shopping and maintaining household supplies

  • Overseeing tradesmen and assisting with household maintenance matters

  • Caring for the family dog and bunny, including feeding and walking the dog

  • Preparing daily family dinner and occasional late breakfast and light lunch

  • Menu planning and accommodating dietary requirements (food intolerances)

  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment

  • Managing food stock and discarding expired items

  • Preparing light lunches or snacks for family members when required

  • Catering for small dinner parties and assisting with table service

  • Babysitting once or twice a month

The ideal candidate will be experienced in a similar private household environment and confident in preparing high-quality family meals daily. They should be proactive, flexible, and able to work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the existing housekeeper and the principals. A calm, discreet nature is essential, along with excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail. The family is seeking someone who will become a long-term, reliable member of the household team.

Bank holidays are not taken on the exact dates but form part of the overall holiday entitlement. All leave must be approved in advance and coordinated with the existing housekeeper to avoid overlapping absences.
