Our client, a private employer in Los Angeles, California, is seeking to hire a Service expert to ensure that the Principals and guests have a pleasant and memorable dining and/or flight experience.

 

Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this is a year round position requiring the flawless execution of daily activities, special events, and dinner parties. You’ll work directly with the Executive Chef, staff members and/or aviation crew to anticipate, obtain and conduct timely, thoughtful, discreet and unobtrusive delivery of dining and air travel service needs to the principals. The Captain of Service Monitors setup, maintenance, cleanliness and safety of dining areas and this position delivers high quality standards and services in all areas of responsibility.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your eagle eye for details to ensure the table settings are just right, food and beverages are presented well, and service is on point.

  • Hire, train and supervise your temporary banquet staff for special events, weddings and dinner parties

  • Leverage teamwork and your exceptional communication skills to serve as a liaison with the Chef, staff and aviation crew keeping them informed of principal needs.

  • Collaborate cross departmentally to ensure the principals and guests are receiving an exceptional experience.

  • Assist the Executive Chef with daily operations, processes and initiatives.

  • Responsible for all aspects of cabin management to ensure the very best in safety and service to owners and guests.

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years’ experience related to working in an upscale casual to fine dining environment. Experience with large events desired.

  • Minimum two years supervisory experience required.

  • Successful candidate must have the following:

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Supervisory skills with exceptional organizational, human resources, project management and financial management abilities

    • Knowledge of etiquette and protocol

    • Upscale casual to formal service of food, fine wines and other beverages

    • Eye for detail and ability to anticipate needs

    • Ability to read people and adapt accordingly

    • Experienced in delivery of thoughtful, discreet and unobtrusive service

    • Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality

 

You must be willing to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. Travel will be required.
