Maternity Nurse, San Francisco / LA (6-8 weeks) / London 4-6 months Start 2019

This lovely family are looking for a highly experienced and knowledgeable Maternity Nurse to care for a baby which is due at the end of July 2019. They need to be up to date with their knowledge on what the best approaches are in caring for a newborn. The Maternity Nurse would work 24/6 and would travel out to San Francisco on 12 July ready for the birth of the baby. The family may then move on to LA for a couple of weeks prior to heading home to the UK. Depending on finding the right person and their availability, the family are looking for the Maternity Nurse to stay with them for between 4 and 6 months, this can be flexible for the right person.

The Maternity Nurse needs to be sensitive, calm, kind, caring and intuitive, with true love of caring for babies.  They must be totally baby focused/centred, able to learn, read and respond to baby’s signals and be consistently sensitive to baby’s needs. Not all babies are the same and one approach does not suit all, so a Maternity Nurse who is able to work with baby as an individual and respond with the right approach for this baby is what the family are looking for.

The family also have an older child who has his own two nannies who work on a rota system. The Maternity Nurse would need to work closely with the nannies to ensure that the children are given lots of opportunities to spend time together. The family want to create a very calm environment for both of the children. The Maternity Nurse will be expected to work towards transitioning the baby over to the nannies by the time that they leave the family.

In London and the US the Maternity Nurse will share a bedroom and bathroom with the baby. The Maternity Nurse will work with the family to ensure that all of the necessary equipment is available in the US home. The baby will be bottle fed.

Flights to and from the US will be covered by the family. There are no pets.
