We are seeking a polished, discreet, and proactive senior operations lead with a butler background to join one of London's premier private households. Reporting directly to the Asset Manager and working alongside senior leadership, you will drive operational excellence, strategic oversight, and five-star service execution across the estate.

What You'll Do

• Support and Service: Partner with the Head of Service to support, mentor, and performance-manage a multidisciplinary household team, setting clear expectations, KPIs, and priorities.

• Property, Maintenance & Asset Care: Oversee estate inspections and preventative maintenance planning. Manage small capital improvement projects, escalate issues to the Property Manager, and safeguard household assets and inventories.

• Asset Management & Financial Support: Work closely with the Asset Manager on budgets, variance analysis, and operational reporting.

• Daily Operations: Maintain oversight across housekeeping, butler service, valet, food & beverage, childcare coordination, and external contractors to ensure seamless service delivery.

• Guest Experience & Events: Coordinate private events, family functions, and high-profile entertaining, delivering an exceptional five-star guest experience from start to finish.

• Stakeholder Liaison & Discretion: Act as a senior point of contact, anticipating visits and events while maintaining absolute confidentiality and professionalism.

• Acting Leadership: Step in as Acting Head of Service during periods of leave, absence, or increased operational demand. You will work closely with various teams and departments.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 8–10+ years of experience in luxury private households, estates, or five-star hospitality.

• Operational Excellence: Proven experience in property care, maintenance planning, inventory management, and overseeing small capital improvement projects.

• Local Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of London, including premium restaurants, contractors, suppliers, and service providers.

• Technical & Service Expertise: Strong Food & Beverage background, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for budgeting and operational reporting.

• Leadership and Team: Calm, solutions-focused, highly organised, and confident managing people in a demanding, high-performance environment. Lead by example and you consider yourself a team player as well across the wider organization.

• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the household, with occasional international travel (Europe/Middle East). This role is full time, but with low periods and peak periods.
