Permanent Sous chef for formal private household in L.A.

 

  • Ensure that kitchen operates efficiently and meets high quality standards

  • Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus

  • Prepare and produce high quality plates both design and taste wise

  • Utilize your eagle eye for details to ensure table settings are just right, food and beverages are presented well, and service is on point.

  • Hire, schedule, train and supervise your temporary banquet staff for special events, weddings and dinner parties.

  • Leverage positive teamwork and exceptional communication skills to serve as a liaison with the Chef and other staff members keeping them informed of principal needs.

  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation

  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers

  • Other duties as assigned

 

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three to five years’ experience related to working in an upscale casual to fine dining environment. Experience with large events desired.

  • Minimum two years supervisory experience required.

  • BS degree in Culinary science or related certificate would be a plus

 

  • Successful candidate must have the following:

  • Proficiency using various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

  • Excellent communication skills; personable with good team spirit

 

Visa: Must have a valid US working visa, or US citizenship.

 

Salary: $75 – 90 K
