Resident Houseparent in Cambridge, starting ASAP

As a live in supervisor for students living within accommodation. 35 hour working week working 5 in 7 work pattern including weekends and bank holidays.

To have excellent English Language Skills

To be IT literate with good ~MS office skills

£17000-£18500 + Rent free accommodation for 44 weeks reviewed towards end of Contract.

2 weeks at Christmas and 2 weeks to be taken in the year avoiding term time

 

Main duties

 

  • Devise and oversea the rota and shift pattern of supporting resident assistants.

  • Ensure that student rooms are set, ready for new students to move into.

  • Support in the induction of new students to the accommodation with help from other team members and the MPW Cambridge International Officer.

  • Encourage students to use the English Language at all times.

  • Arrange/oversea, Monday to Friday breakfast up to 44 weeks within the same academic year for students.

  • Supervise the management of evening meals. (meal plan provided by third party for those)

  • Manage the 7 day breakfast budget for MPW students as directed by the Accommodation Officer.

  • To follow the Worker Policy and Monitoring Procedure at all times when on shift

  • Monitor the boarder’s personal hygiene and be responsible for ensuring reasonable standards of cleanliness and tidiness are being maintained in student’s study/bedrooms and communal living areas. This will include weekly room inspections.

  • Supervise the laundry arrangements, use of the washing machine and external collections/deliveries.

  • Wake ALL MPW students within the hostel under your supervision; ensure all students have been woken before 8:00am Monday to Friday.

 

  • Working week pattern ( Subject to change )

  • Mon - Fri 7am to 11am onsite, on call between 11am and 6pm, 6pm – 11pm

  • Sat - On Call

  • Sunday - evenings to deliver weeks breakfasts for the students 6-8pm

  • Salary £1850 per month

  • 1 bed flat included rent free, Council tax and utilities to be paid , but Wi-Fi Free
