Senior Butler Job



A senior butler is required for an UHNW family in a large, busy estate in North London.The successful candidate will be supporting the Butler team and also will work in partnership with the estate team to provide the highest level of operational service and performance.

This is a demanding and high-pressure role supporting the running of a private estate at the highest level. The ideal candidate will be professional, hardworking and amenable with an exceptional level of discretion and flexibility in terms of working hours. Four years’ experience of working in a private household is required.




Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • Front of house service

  • All types of service including butler, silver, tray, bar and pool.

  • Specialist cleaning and conservation of china, gilt, silver and crystal

  • Antique clock care

  • Stock taking, stock rotation, maintenance and management of pantries and wine cellars

  • Valeting duties

  • Training, supervising and directing the Butler team

  • Responsible for maintaining and running designated areas

  • Manpower planning in conjunction with the Head Butler

  • Creating, implementing, improving, and developing methods and systems of work for the Butler team to the desired standards

  • To ensure that all work undertaken is done so in a safe manner and in accordance with relevant approved codes of safe working practice and risk assessments, as laid down under the Health and Safety Acts as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your work place

  • Ability to use initiative and respond proactively to changing situations and ad hoc requests

  • Ability to follow orders swiftly and efficiently and maintain focus on the task at hand

  • High level of spoken English, with second languages being an advantage

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Computer literate and experience with using Microsoft Office

Live in or out – live out

Salary – 40-45k depending on experience

Hours – 45 hours per week excluding breaks
