One of Greycoat Lumleys's regular clients is recruiting! A very busy directors' dining room in the heart of the City with several meeting rooms is looking for a Chef to join their kitchen team. The role is for Assistant Chef, and they would work alongside the current Head Chef, who has been in the role for a number of years. On a daily basis, there are meetings and lunches which need catering. There are also occasional breakfasts, dinners and drinks parties.

The Assistant Chef's main role would be:

Assisting the Head Chef in a busy directors' dining room with lunches, dinners and canapé parties

Preparation of salads, vegetables, meat, jus/stocks, sandwiches, desserts and pastries

Logging food and fridge temperatures

Logging freezer use

Keeping all areas clean and tidy

Covering the Head Chef's holiday

It is essential that the Chef has had experience working in this environment previously and that they are able to work under high pressure. Ideally, the right candidate will have had a cookery qualification. The right candidate will have a good palate, understand and be able to season well, and also have an eye for detail and for presentation. They will be an all-round Chef and will muck in where required. The candidate will have a passion and knowledge for food and current trends in the industry.

Kitchen hygiene is key, and all Chefs must be immaculate in their hygiene. A hygiene certificate is a pre-requisite.

Salary: £35k gross per annum, 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08.00-15.30

Package: 22 days holiday per year, plus other benefits such as pension, medical insurance which are subject to service in the company
