A traditionally run 6 bedroom Mansion House situated near Canterbury in Kent, with its own private gardens including an outdoor pool.


This is a weekend/holiday home for a delightful and private family who are also often in residence during school holidays and some festivals.


Existing staff consist of a weekend Housekeeper working Wednesday - Sunday.


This is a ‘live in’ position and it is essential that you live in the house for the proper performance of your duties which include, but are not limited to:


  • Preparation of fresh, locally sourced, organic meals, cooked from scratch whilst maintaining a high standard of food hygiene. British and Mediterranean cuisine preferred, simply presented for family meals. Sunday Roasts are a weekly feature, and in summer months outdoor dining by the pool is prevalent (BBQs and wood fired pizza oven). Food style is simple however should be cooked and presented to the highest standards. Food should be locally sourced and organic where possible (plenty of great local suppliers in Kent). There will be some formal lunches and on occasion dinner parties and seasonal events (e.g. summer BBQ’s)

  • General household and food shopping – food should be fresh and where possible, locally sourced and organic predominantly from local farm shops

  • Caretaking, security and maintenance; responsible for the security of the building, pool house and pool area, changing light bulbs, arranging for any maintenance and repairs to be done with external contractors and park staff

  • Chauffeur duties: driving members of the family or friends when required

  • Valet for the Principal’s cars and buggies

  • Provide cover when other staff take leave


Days worked: normal days are Thursday to Monday inclusive; 40 hours per week. You will need to have a flexible approach to your working hours, with periods of intense activity and long hours followed by quieter periods.


Salary: £42,000 gross per annum


Accommodation: staff accommodation is located on the lower ground. The accommodation is furnished but the client is happy for the occupier to use their own furnishings if preferred.
