Greycoat Lumley's client are seeking an experienced Housekeeper Cook  for their shooting Estate in the Scottish Borders.  The role is live in with accommodation on the estate. 

Applicants must be an experienced and competent cook, able to produce a variety of meals for the owner and their immediate family when in residence, and occasional guests. 

An ability to use seasonal produce from the Estate in a creative manner would a distinct advantage!  A seasonal chef is taken on to cover the actual shooting season.

The main Lodge is used by the family and is very busy throughout the sporting season, with frequent changeovers. 

The Lodge is of a significant size, is run on a formal basis and is maintained to the highest standard. 

Reporting into the Housekeeper, the position also involves hands-on cleaning to an exceptional standard.  The candidate must be confident in caring for antiques, fabrics, artwork and fine crystal and china.  During the time that the family are not in residence the property needs to be maintained in a state of readiness, allowing for family/guests to arrive at short notice. 

This is a practical, hands-on position and includes a castle and other buildings that need to be maintained in addition to the Lodge.

A driving license is essential and there will be a vehicle provided for work purposes.

Accommodation:     2/3 bedroom property

                                     Utility and Council tax is covered by the estate

Hours:                        5 day working week + As with most sporting estates extra hours will be required when the estate is busy
