Greycoat Lumleys’ client is looking for a friendly family cook for a week on the Isle of Islay. There will be 5 adults, a nanny and 6 children to cater for. They enjoy a mix of cooked and continental breakfasts, picnic style lunch, which they will either eat outside, or if the weather is horrible then can have at the kitchen table. An afternoon cake would go down a treat and then there would be a simple children’s supper and a two course (maybe three courses) supper and cheese board for the adults.
They enjoy healthy, traditional and varied diets, they also enjoy Ottolenghi style food. The children should have things like fish pies, cottage pie and not too much pasta. The cook should be able to source local produce, but there will be a large pantry available to use.
Numbers may vary slightly, as the family have friends on Islay and may go to theirs for supper; equally their friends may join them. The cook should be flexible and happy to make some dishes for the freezer if asked – this is most likely to happen if they are not eating at the house one day.
Accommodation: A separate cottage will be provided, and you will share a bathroom and kitchen/sitting room with the nanny.
Rate of pay: £120 per day
Dates: 11th-19th August (11th and 19th will be travelling days, you will not be expected to work)
