Greycoat Lumley’s client are seeking an experienced couple for their estate in Perthshire. The family Estate has a rural setting with stunning views and a real sense of community. The main property, accommodation for the couple and other building are all very homely and traditional. This is a wonderful role for an experienced couple to be responsible for the daily running of the semi-formal family home. The Principals are in part time residence (approx. 50%) and enjoy a peaceful relaxed atmosphere at the home.


There is a team spirit around the estate and the couple must have good communication and be able to work as part of the team. The estate has farming, forestry, shooting, stalking and fishing activities.


The role is traditional in Housekeeping and Handyman duties.


Duties Include:


  • General Housekeeping Duties for the Main house (9 bed), Farm house (5 bed), Shooting Hall and Laird’s Room, Office, Cabin and Outhouse

  • Setting fires

  • Laundry / ironing

  • Occasional cooking and supper parties

  • Errands

  • Looking after 3 dogs – feeding them daily and walking when required

  • Child friendly with grown up children and grandchildren

  • General administration, paperwork, orders, deliveries, messages

  • Shoot lunches on occasion


  • General Maintenance / Handyman Duties for Main House (9 bed), Farmhouse (5 bed), Shooting Hall and Laird’s Room, Hydro Scheme

  • General DIY – basic plumbing/electrical/painting and joinery repairs assisted by contractors

  • Basic electrical work – switches, bulbs, internet, TVs etc.

  • Building maintenance, internal and external

  • Domestic cleaning / outdoor cleaning / deep cleaning

  • Meeting greeting and helping with luggage

  • Property Management

  • Health & Safety protocol

  • Fire Alarms - security

  • Looking after the hydro system with weekly maintenance and daily monitoring (basic IT skills necessary).

  • Dog walking

  • Garden maintenance - Chopping wood / logs – setting fires

  • Driving - Maintaining vehicles and car cleaning

  • Painting and decorating

  • Maintaining paperwork and general administration records, domestic invoices, tradesmen, deliveries etc.

  • Assisting with shooting days including elevenses, lunches and driving


Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 gross annual salary total


Accommodation: Separate 2/3 bedroom property, Council Tax is covered by the Principal – bills are covered by the couple
